Typically Business Intelligence and Analytics is thought of as a one-way or ‘push’ process. Users request analytical services, which are then delivered in the form of self-service dashboards, reports, visualisations and analytics. Governance in analytics is often an afterthought, inherited purely through a user’s database or network privileges. MicroStrategy sees things differently. We believe that Governance, especially in a self-service context, must be based on both entitlement and telemetry. In other words, the platform which is used to analyse information also creates its own data stream which can be used to optimise the delivery of analytics to the Enterprise. The BI platform creates its own data which enables it to become intelligent. In this short workshop, Nick will describe the semantic graph and how it can be used to bring governance and telemetry to your Analytical processes.
